AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 20th MAY 2026 | A large-scale Mental Health Awareness Session under the “Mind Strong Gujarat” initiative was successfully conducted today at B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, marking the 37th College/University outreach session led by Youth Ambassador Shri Vidit Sharma.
The session was organized under the leadership & guidance of Dean Madam Dr. Minakshi Parikh, Dean of B.J. Medical College and Head of the Psychiatry Department. The initiative witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, resident doctors, and healthcare professionals.
Focused on the message:
“No to Drugs | No to Suicide | Mental Well Being | Journey Towards Life”
the session aimed to create awareness regarding mental health, emotional resilience, stress management, substance abuse prevention, and the importance of seeking timely support during challenging situations.
Addressing the students, Shri Vidit Sharma emphasized the urgent need to normalize conversations around mental well-being and collectively work towards building a healthier, emotionally stronger, and drug-free society. He encouraged the youth to become positive changemakers and support systems within their campuses and communities.
Despite the personal loss of his beloved Nana Shri Ravindra Kumar Sharma Ji on 16th May, Shri Vidit Sharma continued the session with dedication towards the mission of youth mental health awareness after offering prayers and mourning for the departed soul, even though he was unable to attend the final rites and cremation ceremony.
Special acknowledgment was extended to Dr. Paras, Professor, Department of Anatomy, along with the Team Anatomy Residents, for their valuable support, coordination, and contribution towards the successful execution of the session.
With the successful completion of 37 Colleges/Universities and outreach to more than 10 lakh youth across Gujarat, the Mind Strong Gujarat initiative continues to emerge as a strong youth-driven awareness movement dedicated to mental wellness, suicide prevention, and anti-drug awareness.
The session at B.J. Medical College further strengthened the broader vision of “Mind Strong India”, aimed at building a mentally resilient and empowered generation for the nation.
