Elevating Healthcare: Fujifilm’s Multi Light Technology Arrives at Sattva Gastroliv Hospital in Bhavnagar, Gujarat

  • Multi-light endoscopy enables healthcare providers to detect lesions at earlier stages, potentially leading to earlier intervention and better outcomes for patients.
  • The unique LCI and BLI image mode helps in reducing the risk of missed diagnoses and targeted biopsy site, leading to earlier intervention and improved patient outcomes.
  • This technology facilitates precise diagnoses and improved patient outcomes without surgery.

Gujarat, 8 May 2024: Gujarat, marks a significant leap in healthcare innovation with the introduction of Fujifilm’s cutting-edge multi-light technology endoscopy system. Installed at Sattva Gastroliv Hospital in Bhavnagar, this groundbreaking system promises to revolutionize gastrointestinal diagnostics and elevate the standard of patient care in the region. Developed by Fujifilm, a global leader in medical imaging technology, this state-of-the-art system integrates advanced imaging capabilities to offer unparalleled clarity and precision in gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures.

Multilight technology consists of 3 image modes – WLI (white light image), LCI (Linked color image) and BLI (Blue light image). The technology combines White Light with LCI and BLI modes for enhanced early detection of cancer, lesions, and adenomas. LCI improves color contrast, aiding in lesion and inflammation detection, while BLI intensifies specific wavelengths, enhancing visualization of micro-vessels and mucosal structures for cancer differentiation. The combination of an optimal light spectrum and advanced image processing allows LCI to differentiate red colour tones more effectively than White Light imaging. However, High-intensity contrast imaging with BLI allows superior visualization of superficial vascular and mucosal patterns. Focusing on the characteristics of short wavelength absorption of hemoglobin (at 410 nm) combined with specific white light spectralcolours results in improved and accurate contrast imaging. This advanced imaging reduces procedure times, alleviating patient discomfort. By providing multiple imaging modalities simultaneously, it minimizes missed diagnoses, potentially reducing the need for additional tests or interventions, leading to cost savings. Collaboratively developed with clinical experts, this technology facilitates precise diagnoses and improved patient outcomes without surgery.

Mr Dheeraj Chaudhri, Head of Endoscopy Systems Division, FUJIFILM India, “We are thrilled to introduce Fujifilm’s cutting-edge multi-light technology endoscopy system to the Gujarat region, marking a significant milestone in healthcare innovation. Multi LED technology represents a significant advancement in medical imaging, particularly in detecting flat lesions, early-stage cancer growth, adenomas, and other abnormalities. By harnessing the power of multiple light-emitting diodes (LEDs), this technology enhances the accuracy and sensitivity of diagnostic procedures. It enables healthcare professionals to identify lesions and abnormalities at their most treatable stages, reducing the risk of missed diagnoses and ensuring targeted biopsy sites for further evaluation. Early detection facilitated by Multi LED technology leads to timely interventions, improving patient outcomes and potentially saving lives. Its precision and reliability make it a valuable tool in modern medical practice.
