AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT | 15th AUGUST 2026 | Thousands of Amdavadis, including a large number of young citizens and members of Gen Z, participated in the Tiranga Yatra on Sunday morning, turning the route from Arbudanagar to Khodiyar Mata Temple in Nikol into a sea of Tricolours.
The yatra was organised on the theme ‘Youth Today, Nation Tomorrow’ and brought together youngsters and citizens in a celebration of patriotism, unity and national pride, a day after the country marked its 80th Independence Day. The Yatra was started with the slogan of “We love Modi”.
Ahmedabad East MP Hasmukh Patel was present, along with political leaders and other prominent dignitaries. They joined participants in the yatra and called for greater collective action by youngsters in nation building.
The participation of Gen Z was a key feature of the yatra, with organisers highlighting the role of young Indians in shaping the country’s future. Messages such as ‘We are disciplined Gen Z’, ‘We are nationalised Gen Z’ and ‘We are well-mannered Gen Z’ were used to encourage youngsters to combine national pride with discipline and responsibility, while respecting the country’s culture.
An organiser of the Tiranga Yatra, Vishnubhai Desai, Social Worker said, “The youth are not only the citizens of tomorrow but an important part of the nation-building process today. The participation of so many young people shows that Gen Z is committed to the country’s progress and will play its role in realising the aspiration of a Viksit Bharat.”
Hr also noted that with 65% of its population under the age of 35, India has one of the world’s largest youth populations. They said that young citizens would play an important role in the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The yatra also highlighted the message of unity in diversity and urged citizens to walk together, stand together and contribute to a stronger India.
